Michael Wehrli has worked as a theater professional since 1989 as a teacher, playwright, director, actor, and in theatre administration. He has B.F.A. in Acting & Directing from Texas Christian University and since 1994 has been the Artistic and Education director for
New Moon Productions Theater Company (NMP).
As a playwright, he has written or adapted dozens of full length plays (all of which have been produced) and hundreds of short plays and scenes for students. Six of his works have been published. Some of his favorite full length scripts are

New Moon Productions, he has worked as a teacher at: Portland Actors Conservatory, Dallas Children's Theater, Lakewood Theater, Creative Arts Theater and School, Multnomah Arts Center, Cathedral School, Portland Parks & Recreation, Hip Pocket Theater (Imagination Celebration), Odyssey of the Mind, Grout Elementary, Ainsworth Elementary, Lewis Elementary, and many other locations. In Frankfurt Germany, Michael has worked with English Theater Frankfurt, Theater Language Studio, and Frankfurt English Speaking Theater.
Michael’s directing credits include over 150 plays in many venues in Portland Oregon and the Dallas/Fort Worth area in Texas and hundreds more in educational theater. As an actor, he has been seen on many stages in Dallas/Fort Worth and has made a few appearances here in Portland. His favorite roles include the Scarecrow in
Wizard of Oz, Hamlet in
Hamlet, The Third Man in
The Baltimore Waltz, Iago in
Othello, Stafford in
Sisterly Feelings, and Benedick in
Much Ado About Nothing.
He currently lives and works in Portland Oregon as a theater teacher, playwright and director and continues to produce and direct shows with New Moon Productions and other companies.
